Well today is my youngest 21st birthday. That is T in the playpen with his older brother Robert. Boy T, I can remember how you would get bored so fast. You just could not be in one place or play with one thing for long.I really miss T today, especially since we can't take him out for dinner and buy him his first drink. Oh well T have a drink on us tonight okay hon? I miss him coming up behind me saying "LADEEE," sounding just like Jerry Lewis. I always knew my boys would grow up and leave home, but I never thought they would move 3,000 miles away.
Today is also my nephew's Nicky's birthday. Happy Birthday honey! I love you! I remember when he was born, T was so upset that he was going to have to share his birthday with a new cousin.
This is a picture taken of T and his girlfriend Janelle. It was taken in San Diego, Ca. LOL I don't know why he looks so serious. Come to think of it, T is the serious one in the family, but geez you would think he would be all grins LOL.
Okay before I get to weepy here. I had a great morning. DH is working again today and all day tomorrow and I really needed to get some shopping in. Boy that is hard when he pulls 16 hour days and then weekends. It was a good thing that the guy he is working with and the reason he has to pull all these hours wasn't going to come in until 1. That gave us time this morning - we went to Hursey's for breakfast, WOW I could not believe their prices - it was 2.79 for a biscuit, egg, cheese and tenderloin, now I'm talking a huge piece of tenderloin here. Two eggs, hashbrowns, biscuit and tenderloin was 2 something. My DH and I ate breakfast, with juice and coffee for under 12.00, I thought that was so reasonable.
I then couldn't decide if I wanted to go over to Elon to the new shoe store (it was Grand Opening Day) or just head over to 15/501, because I would still have to go there later, and I'm sure I could find a shoe store on that side of town. We are talking about another hour, hour and a half drive. So we decided to just go straight to 15/501 and save us time. I'm glad we did. I needed a pair of black slip on shoes for when I'm taking care of my nieces next week in Ct., plus a pair of winter boots, in case it snows. Last year it did and I ended wearing my sister-in-laws shoes, which that is okay only her feet are bigger than my 6.5's. Well I found a really nice pair of black leather slip-ons for 8.00 and pair of really nice cozy boots for 7.00, BUT it was BOGO 1/2 so the boots were really 3.50. I did buy some rainproofing and stain prevention spray but that is okay I need to do some more shoes for this winter with the stuff and I know I didn't have anymore at home. Then we headed to Walmart, I wanted to see what SB stuff they had on clearance and check out the iPods. They don't have iPods in stock they will get more in November and no clearance items, so that was a bust.
Then we hit Joann's, now that was a savings, they were having the Moonlight Madness sale (now why do stores call it that when they don't stay open late, I remember K-Mart or was it Jamesway would do that but they would stay open past midnight, oh it was which ever one did the blue light specials, boy I use to love those). Everything on clearance was an additional 50% off, plus a lot of things in the store were 60, 50 and 40% off. I stocked up on some small scrapbooking embellishments, a Mat Stack, a flower punch, a magazine, a garbage can for my crafting studio and the best thing.... I had been eyeballing their work table, it folds up so you can store it, but it was 100.00 and I just couldn't bring myself to do that for a table to go in my studio, well it was 50% so I had to get it. I think it is going to sit perfectly between my two desks under my window. It is a space I wanted to keep open so I can get at the window and open it when I need to, and since the table has rollers it was perfect.
On to the Total Wine Store and bought a couple bottles of white wine. I was hoping to find Iron Gate there so I could pick up some of their Green Apple wine to bring to Ct. and share with my sister-in-law but they didn't carry it. I guess I'll have to have DH take a drive there later this week and get some.
Then it was AC Moore time, I got a few things there, finally found some sock yarn. I went to 3 or 4 places and not one of them carried sock yarn. I want to start a pair for my niece Maureen, that way when I'm in Ct. I can size her feet for them. I picked up a rose scented candle, a candle warmer, been meaning to get one for a while so now I have it, some rose potpourri and some other things.
Oh well I think it's time to grab a bite to eat and then I think I'll sit back with a glass of wine and chill for a while.
Have a great night!
