It also reminded me of a time that I belonged to a group of pet owners and we would always remind others of the dangers out there, not just from birds but other people and animals. God forbid if something happened to someone's pet, the group would just belittle them to no end about letting their pet roam free. I would stay out of it if I didn't always know the whole story, I am one that prefers to know everything before I jump into a fray. One day the head of this group tells everyone that her little pet was attacked. She came right out and said that they allow this little tiny (below 5 pounds) thing to roam their vast acreage and that usually it follows someone from the household around - to the barn, the garage or where ever. This time however something got at it and attacked it ferociously. I couldn't believe the response from group members. Oh you poor thing, how sorry we are, everyone will be in our prayers, it made me so sick - I no longer participate in that group. What double standards. Not one person told her she should never let her pet run loose, not one person said anything negative to her. It shows you how people will fawn over those they feel are in higher positions, or how they want so bad to be in a clique. To me it is so sickening.
We have had a hawk here for two weeks now that will screech and screech while it is flying overhead. I will not let little Mattie out during those times.

I won't even let Chantilly go out and we laughingly call her Porkie Yorkie. It is just to dangerous, even on leashes, a hawk can lift your little one and when the leash gets taut the hawk will release and your poor pet is heading for ground zero. Believe me it has happened.
Okay I will get off my soap box enough said.
Today is a lot cooler, no humidity whatsoever in the air. Air is off and my windows are opened. Finally! I hate air conditioning and just love fresh air breezing through my house, but living here in the south that is not always possible so I take advantage of it whenever I can. Today is one of those days. Maybe fall will be here to stay? YEAH!!!
