I love fragrances but never realized how bad I was until yesterday. During the summer months I tend to use a lot of rose scents. I use Crabtree & Eveyln's Eveyln Rose perfume, Dionis' goat's milk Shenandoah Rose moisturizer, soaps and shampoo; however, the rose scent is not as strong as Eveyln so sometimes I'll cheat and add a little essential rose oil. I do use a lot of essential oils, I have made my own moisturizes and shampoos, but not soaps. I haven't done it that often, but maybe I should that way I can get the scent strength I like. Another great place that I buy my scented things is The Heritage Store, "The Most Amazing Holistic Department Store in the Country." 'Their scents are not overpowering like Eveyln and not as mild as Dionis. I've bought their The Whole Rose Moisturizer, Lavendar and Roses Skin Lotion, Aromatherapy Waters, and many other things. The products I tend to buy from them are all Edgar Cayce formulas from his readings.
Lavendar is also a mainstay in my scent repertoire. I use lavendar when I want to relax and just chill. Yesterday was a good example - it was drizzly and overcast, DH worked OT for the weekend, I had cleaned and cooked and played and was ready for a nice hot shower, comfy jamies and chill with a glass of wine. Off to the shower I went and used my lavendar scented Olive Oil Shampoo from The Heritage, I used Bath and Body Works Lavendar liquid soap and when I was done I moisturized with lavendar scented oils and used Yardley's Lavendar Powder, which I am not thrilled with but I need to use it up. LOL but that wasn't all. I had made spaghetti and sauce, with meatballs, I used Herbs de Provence in the sauce, which has - guess what - in it. If you guessed lavendar you are right. I didn't realize it until I went to take a bite and could smell a slight hint of lavendar, hmm or maybe it was myself LOL. Whatever it was, the dinner tasted great.
During the winter months I tend to use Patchouli and Crabtree & Evelyn's Savannah Gardens. It doesn't have Patchouli in it but the mixture of scents has a vague resemblence to it. I also use Bath and Body Works Botanical Nutrients Wheat Bran Patchouli Shampoo, it is wonderful. I still use lavendar to relax.
I also discovered Orange Oil - this stuff is fabulous for those times you need to stay awake, like long car rides. It is a mainstay when I travel and absolutely love its fresh invigorating scent. I even had my DS1 using it when he went back and forth to Pa. I just keep a full bottle of the essential oil with me and whenever I need a pick-me-up, I open the bottle and deeply inhale. HEAVEN!!!
