WOW!!! What a vacation. I'm back after 8 days in the Outer Banks with my DH, Mom and Dad. Came back Sunday and my parents stayed for another four days here. So now I'm trying to catch up at home and with my computer stuff. DS1 stayed here and watched Mattie and my Dad's dog Scooter while we were gone. Chantilly went to the vets so they could spay her.

I worried so much as I knew I would. She had the surgery while we were gone and stayed there until Friday when DS1 picked her up. She ended up licking her incision, ripped the stitches out and inflammed the area, so they put one of those collar things on her. She looks so adorable with that on. We called the vets so often, just to make sure she was okay.













We knew this was the best way to do it. If she would have come home without the rest, she surely would have torn the stitches. As there were two cats and two other dogs here and she would have played and rough housed. If we did the surgery and took her with us she would have gotten sand in the incision and we would have had to watch carefully for infection. So this was the best, at least the vet didn't mind all the calls.

We took Flat Stanley with us to the OBX, I think he had a great time. He took a ferry ride to Ocracoke Island, he went to Cape Hatteras Lighthouse, to the beach and the sound. This weekend he is going to Raleigh our state capital and then back home to Pa.

We stayed on the sound side at Frisco Campground. Wow what beautiful sunsets we had.

We would sit at our picnic table and watch or walk to the edge of the shore and watch. My DH's brother and SIL came down on Thursday and stayed until Sunday. Saturday we went to the beach and watched the sunrise. It was just great.

I wanted to rent a house this year but no one was up for that. Dottie suggested we all chip in next year and rent for one or two weeks, beach side with a deck facing the ocean. I think that is a wonderful idea and so look forward to it.
